How to Program Your TAPro NFC Product

Before You Start

  • Confirm that you have the correct website or review URL.
  • Test the URL in your phone browser before programming it.
  • Download a compatible NFC-writing application.
  • Remove thick phone cases if the product is difficult to detect.
  • Do not place the NFC product directly against metal unless it is designed for metal surfaces.

Basic Programming Steps

  1. Open your NFC-writing application.
  2. Select the option to write or add a new record.
  3. Select URL or custom URL.
  4. Paste your complete link, including https://.
  5. Select Write.
  6. Hold your phone over the NFC chip until the application confirms completion.
  7. Close the application and test the product with your phone.
Important: The exact NFC scanning location differs by phone. On many iPhones, the reader is near the upper edge of the phone. On Android devices, it is commonly near the center or upper back of the phone.

What to Check When an NFC Product Does Not Scan

Check NFC compatibility

Confirm that the phone supports NFC and that NFC is enabled when required.

Move the phone slowly

Try the upper edge, upper back and center of the phone rather than tapping one location quickly.

Remove the case

Thick, magnetic or metal phone cases may interfere with NFC scanning.

Move away from metal

Metal surfaces can interfere with ordinary NFC products unless an anti-metal layer is included.

Test with another phone

This helps determine whether the issue involves the product, phone settings or scanning position.

Verify the saved link

A product may scan correctly but fail to open if an incomplete or invalid URL was programmed.

If a qualifying TAPro product experiences a covered manufacturing defect, spontaneous technical chip failure or covered material defect during its defined product lifetime, TAPro will provide a replacement product at no charge, subject to the terms below.

Internal NFC Chip Failure

Coverage may apply when the NFC chip spontaneously stops scanning, communicating or transmitting its stored information during normal use.

Manufacturing or Material Defects

Coverage may apply to qualifying factory defects in the acrylic, plastic, card material, printing, assembly or supplied adhesive that existed when the product was received.

Data-Retention Failure

Coverage may apply when a qualifying NFC chip experiences an internal failure that prevents it from reliably retaining or transmitting programmed information.

What Is Not Covered

  • Normal cosmetic wear, scratches, fading or surface marks
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect or physical abuse
  • Bent, crushed, cut, snapped or punctured cards and products
  • Water or liquid damage unless the specific product is advertised as waterproof
  • Damage caused by heat, fire, chemicals or improper cleaning
  • Improper installation or use on an unsuitable surface
  • Damage caused by magnets, metal interference or unauthorized modification
  • Lost, stolen or discarded products
  • Products purchased from an unauthorized or unverifiable source
  • Problems caused by third-party applications, websites, mobile phones, operating systems or external platforms
  • Changes made by Google, Apple, Yelp, social networks or another third-party service

How TAPro Defines Product Lifetime

For purposes of this warranty, “Lifetime” means the expected commercial and operational life of the covered product—not the lifetime of the purchaser.

TAPro products using NXP NTAG213, NTAG215 or NTAG216 chips are designed around chip specifications of approximately 10 years of data retention and up to 100,000 write cycles under specified operating conditions. The applicable product lifetime ends when either limitation is reached or when the product has otherwise reached the end of its reasonable commercial life.

The 10-year data-retention figure does not mean every physical card, stand, keychain, adhesive or printed surface is guaranteed to remain cosmetically unchanged for 10 years.

Additional Warranty Terms

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of a genuine TAPro product and is not transferable. Proof of purchase and the original order number are required.

TAPro may request photographs, video, troubleshooting information or return of the affected product before approving a claim. TAPro reserves the right to test the product and determine whether the issue qualifies as a covered defect.

Approved claims are resolved through replacement of the affected product. Cash reimbursement is not provided under this warranty. If the original item has been discontinued, TAPro may replace it with a comparable current product of equal or similar value.

This warranty provides benefits in addition to any non-waivable rights available under applicable consumer law. Marketplace purchases may also remain subject to the applicable Amazon, Etsy or other marketplace policies.

Should I contact TAPro before opening the package?

Yes, if you have questions about compatibility, programming, activation or whether the product is suitable for your intended use. Contacting us first can prevent unnecessary setup mistakes.

Can I return an NFC product after programming or activation?

A programmed, activated, used or altered NFC product may no longer qualify as new and may be ineligible for return. The final return decision is also subject to the policy of the marketplace through which you purchased it.

Do I need a subscription to use a TAPro NFC product?

Standard programmable TAPro NFC products do not require a monthly subscription simply to store and share a compatible URL. Certain third-party profile, website, booking or software services may charge their own fees.

Can I update the programmed link?

Most unlocked and rewritable TAPro NFC products can be programmed again with a new compatible URL. Permanently locked products cannot be rewritten.

What information should I include when contacting support?

Include your name, order number, marketplace, product type, phone model, NFC application and a clear description, photo or video of the problem.

Does the Lifetime Warranty cover accidental damage?

No. The warranty covers qualifying manufacturing defects and spontaneous technical failures. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, normal wear, loss or unauthorized modifications.

Does the warranty apply to Amazon and Etsy purchases?

Yes, when the item is a genuine TAPro product purchased by the original buyer and valid proof of purchase is supplied. Marketplace policies may apply separately.

What happens if my original product is discontinued?

TAPro may replace an approved discontinued product with a current comparable item of equal or similar value.
